I’m shooting Peri and Oscar’s SF City Hall elopement later this summer, and we decided to get together for an engagement shoot beforehand to get to know each other and get them comfy in front of my camera. We shot in Alameda—where they call home and have spent most of their relationship together. We started at home with their pup Ash for pizza and wine—I’ve really gotten to love at home sessions this last few years. It’s so sweet and special to document a slice of your life at home together—especially if this is your first home together, the first home you purchased together, or your forever home.

Afterwards we headed to the beach and the marina down the street where they like to walk their dog (but left Ash at home) for some romantic sunset shots. The evening really showed off for us as we got super dreamy sunset light.

Couples photos, whether for an engagement, anniversary, or just because, are one of my favorite things to shoot. I always love running around outside at sunset, but also love hanging out in your neighborhood—let’s go to your favorite bar, walk the route you take your dog on everyday, stop for a slice of pizza in your neighborhood.
