Another classically foggy evening at Ocean Beach in San Francisco! I met with Morgan and Miles to shoot their engagement photos at one of my favorite local spots, Ocean Beach. No matter how many times I shoot here I’m always obsessed with the grasses in the dunes—maybe because I grew up in Southern California where all my beaches are cliffs down to a short sandy beach without much plant life. I’ve gotten lucky at Ocean Beach countless times with beautiful sunny days and a sunset, but this night was a typical Northern California spring evening: fog, wind, and chilly. Luckily the fog makes for even lighting and a gorgeous, moody backdrop.

Morgan and Miles both love reading and having sunset (ha) picnics together, so we brought both elements into our shoot to capture a piece of their relationship. I always love incorporating moments that are unique to my couples in my shoots.
