INTIMATE PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY IN OAKLAND | AMANDA
Self love portrait session with Amanda shot outdoors in Oakland! Amanda wanted to embrace a mixture of gender norms: both a stronger, more masculine energy as well as a softer, feminine energy. We first shot stronger, tougher images before the sun dipped with flash to accentuate harsher and moodier light. We were not going for a more typical, romantic golden hour look. Lots of emphasis on her strong shoulders for these images! Then as the sun dipped we switched into a more classically feminine mode with a flowy dress and softer energy. Here we added color lights as well as Amanda was drawn to my use of different light.
I loved being able to encapsulate different sides to Amanda with this shoot through the lighting, posing, and wardrobe change.
