CITY + BEACH ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS IN SAN FRANCISCO | LIZA + MCKAY
The happiest laugh-iest engagement photo session of all time! I met up with Liza and McKay in their old neighborhood, North Beach in San Francisco. We started at Freddie’s Sandwiches, a spot they frequented when they first started dating and lived in this neighborhood. We slowly made our way through the neighborhood, making our way to Washington Square Park, stopping and capturing their relationship along the way. A few times brought down their infectious energy a bit to pose them for some more serious photos (per their request!), but for the most part I let their relationship shine through. These two couldn’t stop laughing and goofing around with each other.
At the park we popped champagne, underestimating how much it was going to spray—yes McKay got soaked. Then we headed to Baker Beach for sunset and to jump in the ocean! So many of my clients have been jumping in the water lately, and I just couldn’t be happier about it. Liza may have gotten taken out by a rogue wave, losing her veil before we got any pics of it (fortunately we caught it on super 8!). She was such a trooper about it, we couldn’t stop laughing. (Yes, I waded in about waist deep per usual to get the shots with them!) Afterwards they changed into cozy clothes, ordered pho and headed home—perfect end to a super fun evening if you ask me.
We also shot a roll of Super 8 film video, which you can see here!
I love making my sessions unique to my couples—romping around their old neighborhoods, starting at their nostalgic sandwich shop. But also, if you want to jump in the water, I’m your girl. I’d love to brainstorm how to make your photoshoot represent your relationship, or just how to have the best time getting in the ocean!
