The Heggerud family likes to camp together, and asked if I could meet them at Coast Camp in Pt Reyes for a family session. This was their twins’ first backpacking trip—it’s almost an almost two mile hike into camp! I met them for “sunset” (typically non-existent due to fog) and a chilly windy evening. We headed to the beach, but the kids quickly got cold so we went back up to their more protected campsite for bubbles, oreos, and hot chocolates. We ended the evening by getting the kids cozy in their sleeping bags and taking some photos in the tent. This is why I love documentary family photos—being able to capture this time as it is.
