PLAYFUL + ROMANTIC MATERNITY SESSION SHOT ON FILM | RAVEN + IAN
I shot Raven and Ian’s wedding last year in San Francisco (also on film!), and was so honored when they reached out about capturing this next stage in their life—maternity photos. I love love getting to shoot with clients over time through different stages of their life, it’s so special and such an honor to be able to capture their changing lives. We went to Ocean Beach for sunset, without the pressure of a wedding day, and got to just play around together. They had sent me a mood board full of sweet, playful, youthful images, which is so their vibe. These two are so happy and in love they are so fun to shoot with.
Raven and Ian said some of their favorite photos from their wedding were the film ones, and asked if we could shoot film again. I shot Portra 400 on my trusty contax T2, which is sprinkled throughout this gallery alongside digital images. I love the nostalgic, un-perfect feel of film, and am always thrilled when clients want to add film coverage to their package. I shot film for years and years before shooting digital, so it’s extra special to me. \
